Alfonso Herrero (Málaga) urges patience: the win is “close”

Alfonso Herrero (Málaga) asked for patience after the international break, when the club returned to Primera as bottom of the table with three points from 21 and without a win yet. In an interview with Supa Bros, the Toledo-born keeper said he doesn’t expect “external solutions” and believes the same group and style that earned promotion will fix the current run.

«We’re the ones we are and this will go on like this at least until Christmas,» he said, adding that «the team and the playing idea are still the same» that brought «so many joys» and the jump to the top flight. He also pointed to how hard the adjustment to Primera can be for a squad experiencing the league for the first time: «We know the complexity of Primera and the adaptation it requires.»

Despite the results, Herrero is convinced change can come soon: «The win is very close. Once it arrives… more start coming.» He finished by saying he feels «calm and very confident» in his teammates, recalling his early talks with Loren Juarros and his wish to retire wearing the blanquiazul shirt: «I’d love that.»
