Almería make it three straight wins vs Celta Fortuna

Almería extended their run to three straight victories against Celta Fortuna, with goals from Nico Melamed and Javi Muñoz. The match was settled early in the first half and finished 2-0, even though the visitors reacted after going behind.

Early goals decide it

As Mundo Deportivo reports, Melamed opened the scoring at six minutes with a powerful shot. Just twelve minutes later, in the 18th, Javi Muñoz made it 2-0 by finishing a standout team move that started with Luna and ended with Muñoz outmuscling his marker. Before those two goals, Almería already threatened: Miguel hit the post in the 2nd minute and Embarba was close shortly after.

A lead that nearly slipped

Celta Fortuna absorbed the blow but didn’t drop their intensity. Mundo Deportivo notes that Xavi García Pimienta’s side responded with periods of danger and managed to bring the game back into contention at times, while Almería kept a high press that made it hard for the young Celeste players to build.

Second half chances came for both teams. Almería missed a clear moment, and Celta also pushed forward late on, with Óscar Marcos creating another chance around the 81st minute, though the score line held.

With the win, as Mundo Deportivo adds, Almería climb to fourth place with 12 points. The game was played as part of LaLiga Hypermotion matchday six at UD Almería Stadium, with 14,204 spectators.
