Ander trains with Zaragoza, but Ibiza spot is still uncertain
Sport reports Ander Herrera trained normally despite lumbar discomfort, though he may sit out the Friday trip to Ibiza.
Real Zaragoza returned to the training pitch on Tuesday with the full squad at the disposal of head coach Ibai Gómez, and with Bobby Aitkenhead—CEO of A.GAIN and set to become the club’s next majority shareholder—present at the session. The workout also served to gauge the condition of Ander Herrera, who has been carrying lumbar problems and was left out of the matchday squad against Cartagena.
Training with the group
According to Sport, Ander trained “apparently normally” alongside his teammates. The first-team also welcomed several usual Deportivo Aragón players working with the senior side: Monzón, Tobajas, and goalkeeper Manolache were all on the training session.
Lumbar issue: doubt for Ibiza
Even so, the same outlet says Ander’s availability for Friday’s game in Ibiza is not assured. The expectation, per Sport, is that he could stay at home to avoid unnecessary risk with his injury, which would mean missing a second consecutive match.
With that in mind, the article highlights that the strong performance on Sunday from the midfield duo Ademo and Terrer supports keeping them in the starting lineup.
Sport adds that, as reported on Monday, the incoming ownership has agreed to an extension in the deadline initially set to complete the purchase of the club, delaying the final step in the takeover.
