Athletic Club lays out its accounts: €94m liquidity and no debt

Athletic’s treasurer forecasts €152.6m revenue for 2026/27 and an operating loss of about €3m, according to MARCA.

Athletic Club treasurer Guillermo Ruiz-Longarte reviewed the club’s accounts ahead of the 28 October assembly, highlighting two key figures: €94m in liquidity and no debt, according to MARCA.

The 2025/26 season ended with 193m euros in revenue, with no player sales, plus an EBITDA of 38.1m and net profit around 21m. Ruiz-Longarte said the club used those results to make voluntary adjustments that did not affect cash, including bringing forward player amortisations and Foundation-related expenses.

Outlook for 2026/27

For 2026/27, without European competition, Athletic expects 152.6m euros in revenue and an operating loss of roughly 3m. Even so, he stressed the club will keep working to attract and retain talent. The budget also factors in more than 15m of positive impact from transfers and loans, and another 15m in investments to support both economic and sporting growth.
