Aubameyang undergoes successful right knee surgery

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has undergone surgery in Madrid and the procedure was successful, according to MARCA. The forward was operated on for his right knee problem at the Centro Olympia by surgeon Manuel Leyes.

The operation is intended to fix the discomfort affecting the outer meniscus of his right knee, an issue he picked up during the match against Real Betis, as reported by MARCA. He has already been given hospital discharge and will return to A Coruña to begin his recovery process.

Medical green light

In a club statement quoted in the article, the Dépor medical update indicates that his recovery will determine when he returns to team training. Still, the most likely timeframe suggests he could miss action for between four and six weeks.

This setback also comes at a difficult time for the coach, Antonio Hidalgo: the forward’s absence adds to that of Marc Casadó, who is expected to be sidelined for about three months.

On a roll before injury
