Auxerre loan Francisco Sierralta to Piast Gliwice

The AJ Auxerre deal for Francisco Sierralta is moving forward: the Chilean centre-back and international has been sent out on loan to Piast Gliwice (Polish top flight) with an option to buy, as reported by L’Équipe.

The change of scene comes after a tough spell in France. Sierralta arrived from Watford in July 2025 for €1.8m, but struggled to establish himself, hampered by muscle injuries. In Ligue 1 he played only ten matches (all between August and November 2025), scoring once; his final appearance for Auxerre was in the Coupe de France on December 21 against Monaco (a 1-2 loss).

A new chapter in Poland

For Piast Gliwice, who are currently sixth in the local league, the window still gives time to decide on the option. The loan includes the chance to make the move permanent, with the Polish transfer market staying open until Wednesday night, according to L’Équipe.

The same report adds a second potential exit from Auxerre: Josué Casimir, the 24-year-old Haitian forward, is described as close to heading to Russia, where the market remains open until Thursday night. Casimir has 10 caps for Haiti and is under contract at Auxerre until June 2028.

Overall, Auxerre is looking to reshape its squad, and this move gives Sierralta a fresh opportunity after a season disrupted by injuries.
