Axel Tape remains Levante’s only signing yet to debut in LaLiga

Levante has worked through much of its summer recruitment already, but there’s one clear snag: out of the eleven players brought in, French defender Axel Tape (on loan from Bayer Leverkusen) is the only one yet to make his LaLiga EA Sports debut, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

The pattern shifted in the team’s latest outing. In the match against Barcelona (2-4), Levante did see new faces: striker Petar Ratkov —on loan from Lazio— started the game, and in the final stretch Austrian defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe also made his first appearance after joining from the Liverpool.

Debuts have started to come

With Tape still without league minutes, Mundo Deportivo points out that Pablo Campos (goalkeeper) and Jorge Cabello (centre-back) are the other senior squad members who haven’t played yet this season either.

Meanwhile, the outlet says the remaining eight summer signings have all logged minutes within the first four league rounds. Hugo Sotelo and Dani Requena are highlighted as having started as titular for the first time in the Barcelona game, while the rest also saw playing time under Luís Castro.

So the obvious question remains: when will Tape finally get his first LaLiga minutes, and where will he fit into the starting XI or the rotation plan next?
