Bisiwu returns as Barcelona targets Feyenoord in Champions League
Jesse Bisiwu trained with the first team after checks on his ankle and could be available vs Feyenoord. Eric García is suspended.
After hammering Valencia 0-5, FC Barcelona returned to training with their Champions League opener against Feyenoord next on the agenda. The match is on Wednesday at 18:45, and the session brought an encouraging update for coach Hansi Flick: Jesse Bisiwu worked with the first team and is expected to be available for the game at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Training despite the scare
As Mundo Deportivo reports, the Belgian had barely played 12 minutes in the Copa Catalunya final against CE Sabadell before suffering a heavy stamp on his left ankle. He was forced to leave on a stretcher, and then spent time on crutches and with a protective boot, which initially raised worries about the severity.
The good news came after medical tests ruled out any major issue in his left ankle. Mundo Deportivo highlights that the situation has been assessed as a positive evolution in recent days, bringing genuine relief for the club and giving Bisiwu the green light to keep developing his potential.
Suspension for Eric García
The training session also confirmed a downside: Eric García trained with a mask but will miss the Feyenoord game due to suspension. Meanwhile, following the usual post-match routine, the players who started against Valencia did lighter work, while the substitutes completed more physical load to be ready for Champions League.
In short, Barcelona head into Feyenoord with reinforcements available—Bisiwu—while also facing a confirmed absence—Eric García.
