Carlos Cuesta leaves Parma after five Serie A matches
Parma and Carlos Cuesta part ways after five games this season; the club says the coaching staff will lead Monday’s session.
Spanish coach Carlos Cuesta has stepped down as Parma manager this Sunday after an agreement between the club and the technical staff that “conditions are no longer in place” to continue the project started last season, the club said.
Until now, Cuesta was Serie A’s youngest head coach at 31. This term he oversaw five matches, taking four points from one win, one draw and three defeats.
New management shift
Monday’s training session will be run by the club’s coaching staff while a successor is identified.
Cuesta joined Parma in June 2025 after working as Arteta’s assistant at Arsenal. He previously coached in the Atlético de Madrid and Juventus youth ranks, and from 2020 to 2025 served in Arteta’s Arsenal staff. In his first season he secured Serie A survival, and in June 2026 Parma renewed him after a strong campaign.
