Carlos Dotor hits out at VAR: “not for a serious league”

Carlos Dotor, from Málaga, is still furious after a goal was ruled out against Getafe and he went on record criticizing VAR, saying: “That the VAR semi-automated system not working isn’t for a serious league.”

The midfielder from Madrid is in his second year at the club following the promotion, and he also noted that he scored his first goal in LaLiga about a week ago. Still, he believes adapting to the top flight is taking time: he pointed out that the team arrives late to games and needs to “assimilate where we are,” stressing that quicker decision-making is still required.

Outraged by the disallowed goal

Dotor said the referee told him it was being reviewed and complained that the goal was cancelled for a “millimetric” offside. He added that, later, another offside was flagged using “an L-shaped line and a ruler,” arguing that a system like that failing isn’t acceptable in Spain’s top division.

Dressing room mood and transfers

On the squad, he insisted the start has been tough but the group needs to stay together: “We have to be together,” avoiding games where nerves lead to fighting on their own. When asked about potential signings, he said nothing has been discussed in the dressing room.
