Carrick rests Rashford, then starts him in the Manchester derby

Michael Carrick, coach of Manchester United, is approaching the first Manchester derby of the “post-Guardiola era” with a specific call on his main forward. After giving Marcus Rashford a rest on Thursday, he brings him back into the starting XI for this Sunday’s clash.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Rashford was rested during United’s 4-0 win over Shabah in the Champions League league phase opener. Now, he returns to face their city rivals.

There’s also bad news for the Red Devils: Luke Shaw is out and couldn’t play against Shabah. And compared with the Champions match lineup, Carrick makes further adjustments, with Diogo Dalot and Harry Maguire coming in for Noussair Mazraoui and Leny Yoro.
