Ceballos out of the squad today, targeting Lille in Champions

Dani Ceballos has started his return to Betis at full speed but without being able to go straight into the starting picture. As MARCA reports, the Utrera-born player was not included in the matchday squad for today’s game against Real Madrid, yet he’s aiming to be ready for Tuesday’s Champions League clash vs Lille.

Back home, but not today

In statements collected by MARCA from Movistar LaLiga, Ceballos explained why he isn’t available right away: “I haven’t had the chance to train, only to finish the medical check-up yesterday.” From there, the focus shifts to recovery and readiness so he can reach the European fixture, describing it as “a bit of a rush to make it to Tuesday.”

The call will depend on training

Ceballos also made clear that his availability depends on how he feels day by day in training. “We’ve talked about it; hopefully we can go… it will depend on the sensations in training, but we hope to be available for Tuesday,” he said.

What he wants to bring to Betis

The midfielder framed his role around experience in a youthful group: “Above all, experience,” plus control of the game and drive as the club works to “make it a bit bigger.” He also addressed his reunion with Isco, calling him “a phenomenon” and hoping they can share the pitch with him fit throughout the season.
