Charles De Ketelaere reveals PSG talks but they chose Ferran Torres

Charles De Ketelaere, of Atalanta, said he spoke with Paris Saint Germain this summer, only for PSG to end up choosing Ferran Torres. In an interview with La Dernière Heure, the Belgian explained that Atalanta are waiting for roughly €50 million to green-light a transfer, but that the deciding factor is finding a club willing to meet that price.

The forward added that he’s happy in Bergamo and wants to keep fighting for a starting role, citing the importance of being a regular since his time at AC Milan. He also pointed to his international impact: Belgium’s winger has 35 caps and 9 goals, and he was the only player to score against Spain at the World Cup quarter-finals.

RMC Sport notes that while the main markets closed on 1 September, clubs could still use a “joker” option in competitions where the window remained open.
