Clinton Mata misses OL training due to happy news

OL trained on Thursday with near full availability ahead of the trip to face Paris FC in Ligue 1, and the main absence was Clinton Mata. As reported by L'Équipe, the defender did not take part because of a “happy event” that happened in the last few hours.

L'Équipe notes that the rest of the squad was on hand, giving Paulo Fonseca a more favorable picture than expected. The Portuguese coach stressed the importance of having as many players available as possible: “Having all the players available is really positive,” he said.

The training session also included other notable points. The left wingers Julien Duranville (muscular fatigue) and Keito Nakamura were there. Nakamura, according to the same source, had just arrived and was not eligible for the weekend match against Auxerre.

On Nakamura’s fitness, Fonseca sounded confident about his readiness. The coach praised the week of work: “I really liked Keito’s training week. He did very well, he integrated into the group perfectly. He is ready to play,” he stated.

With the Paris FC match just days away, the focus now turns to how Duranville’s fatigue progresses and whether Nakamura can be used straight away, while OL prepares without Mata due to personal circumstances.
