Digne returns as PSG leave out Zabarnyi and Mayulu for Brest
Lucas Digne is back in PSG’s squad for Brest; Luis Enrique has dropped Illia Zabarnyi and Senny Mayulu.
PSG travel to Stade Brestois 29 this Sunday evening to close out the 4th matchday of Ligue 1, with Lucas Digne back in the 21-man squad, according to L'Équipe. The defender returns after not being included by Luis Enrique for the previous round against AS Monaco, which finished (1-2).
Squad for Brest
This time, Luis Enrique has put out a group of 21 players for the trip to Brest, as the French outlet reports. Digne’s return comes after a start to the season that was described as rather disappointing, and it suggests the coach is ready to give him another opportunity.
Three omissions
Luis Enrique, however, has chosen to leave out Illia Zabarnyi, Senny Mayulu, and Quentin Ndjantou. L'Équipe specifies that:
- Zabarnyi has only featured in two matches so far across all competitions.
- Mayulu, the 19-year-old winger, has yet to appear this season.
- Ndjantou has racked up a total of 67 minutes.
So the big talking point for Brest is straightforward: Digne returns to the squad, while the coach cuts players who’ve had limited game time so far. The question now is how PSG look on the pitch with these selections and whether the changes pay off right away.
