Andorra extends Tiago Olmedo’s deal until June 2030

FC Andorra has secured Tiago Olmedo’s future with a deal running until June 2030, keeping the 18-year-old full-back within the first-team setup. As MARCA reports, the player from Manresa has been integrated into the senior group since this summer, even though he is yet to make an official debut.

For now, Olmedo will combine first-team training with the youth squad at Nàstic de Manresa in División de Honor, with the club focused on protecting his development. MARCA says the Andorra leadership sees the renewal as a clear sign of faith: “a reflection of the trust the club places in his progress”, is how the club framed it.

Between the first team and youth

The early phase is more about adaptation than playing time. MARCA also points out that he has been named in the squad for the first three Segunda matches of the season against Ceuta, Celta Fortuna and Eibar, although he did not take to the pitch in any of them.

In comments collected by MARCA, the player describes the move as a once-in-a-lifetime step: “It has been a radical change in my life and in football. It’s an unforgettable experience that I feel I have to make the most of.” He adds that he wants to help the team as much as possible: “Individually I want to take in every learning and concept I can, and I hope to contribute to the maximum so the group does as well as possible.”

His path to Andorra

Olmedo’s route so far has been largely based in his home area, starting at CE Manresa before moving to Gimnàstic de Manresa. This season, with the youth/reserve side, he also played in a 0-1 win over Racing Zaragoza in the opening fixture of División de Honor, MARCA adds.
