As Mundo Deportivo reports, the club’s decision not to include Bardghji is because a serious knee injury will keep him sidelined for the entire season.

The article also details the rationale: the Egyptian and Belgian keep the 29 and 27 shirt numbers they use in LaLiga with the B team, but for European matches they had to be added to the ‘A list’ as first-team-eligible players.
Fariñas will play too
Finally, among the club’s homegrown options that can be updated up to 24 hours before a match, Brian Fariñas is set for the Champions League. For Europe, he’s listed with shirt 28 under the ‘B list’, alongside the rest of the academy players.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Fariñas already has shirt 4 with the first team in LaLiga, which is why he can be used through this regulatory route.
