Ezri Konsa and Nico O’Reilly are doubts for England vs Czech Republic

Ezri Konsa (Arsenal) and Nico O’Reilly (Manchester City) are doubts for England’s Nations League match against the Czech Republic on Tuesday night. They were the only two members of the England squad to miss training on Monday morning, with both following individual programmes.

Both played the full 90 minutes in England’s 3-2 loss to Spain on Saturday. O’Reilly started at left-back, a position he established for himself during the World Cup, and his absence would create an opening for Lewis Hall to step in.

O’Reilly’s mistake led to Alex Baena drawing Spain level at 2-2 at Wembley before the World Cup winners went on to secure the win, according to BBC Sport. At centre-back, Konsa was one of the most trusted options and started seven of the eight matches at the 2026 World Cup. Jarrad Branthwaite came on late for Marc Guehi against Spain and could be in contention if Konsa is not available.

England play four games in this international window: after the defeat to Spain, they take on the Czech Republic both home and away, with a trip to Rijeka to face Croatia in between.
