Floyd Samba scores twice on debut as Man City see off Norwich

Debut double brings early control

Samba made his impact quickly. At 17 years old and the son of former Premier League defender Chris Samba, he headed in to put City ahead. Shortly after, Rayan Cherki doubled the lead soon after, taking the game out of Norwich’s reach.

The rout continued when another debutant, Allan, added a third. He danced into the box and drilled a low finish into the bottom corner, giving the home fans another reason to celebrate during the match.

Fourth-round ticket secured

Samba built on the strong start to his first senior appearance. After assisting the opening goal, he wrapped up his night with a composed finish for City’s fourth, with his father watching from the stands, according to Sky Sports.

With the 5-0 result, Manchester City booked their spot in the next stage of the competition. The win also featured more positives on the scoresheet from the debuts of Allan and Cherki, the broadcaster added.
