Galech Apezteguía to referee Albacete–Córdoba

The RFEF has confirmed the referee appointment for Albacete Balompié–Córdoba CF at the Carlos Belmonte, for Matchday 6 in the Liga Hypermotion. The clash pits two sides currently in the relegation zone to Primera RFEF, so the game is expected to carry plenty of pressure.

A first meeting

The match will be handled by Iosu Galech Apezteguía. The 35-year-old referee is in his seventh season in the second tier of Spanish football, after the RFEF took him out of LaLiga last term, following the 2025-26 season.

Across 260 games in First, Second and Segunda División B, his record stands at 106 home wins, 75 draws and 79 away wins. Discipline-wise, he averages 5.41 yellow cards per match and has shown 95 red cards in those appearances.

Córdoba, his debut

As reported by the RFEF, Galech Apezteguía has never refereed Córdoba CF before, meaning this will be his first time facing the blanquiverde team.

By contrast, he is familiar with Albacete: he has officiated nine matches involving the club, with three wins for Albacete, four draws and two defeats. Six of those were played at the Carlos Belmonte, with one home victory, one defeat and four draws.

VAR team

On VAR will be the Valencian Iván Caparrós Hernández.
