Genesio after PSG loss: “Not a defeat that satisfies me”

Bruno Genesio, coach of Marseille, spoke plainly after Sunday’s loss to PSG (1-2). According to L’Équipe, the manager said he was disappointed after the club extended its run to a fifth consecutive defeat across Ligue 1 and Ligue Europa.

Genesio made it clear that, despite the circumstances, the team can’t hide behind the idea of a “good” loss. As L’Équipe reports, he said: «Ce n’est pas une défaite honorable qui va me satisfaire».

The Frenchman also indicated that he will take stock with the leadership in the coming days. L’Équipe adds that he «va faire le point avec sa direction dans les prochains jours»—meaning an internal check is coming soon.

The PSG scoreline matters, but the bigger issue is the trend. With a prolonged skid, attention in Marseille now turns to whether the club’s next steps—decisions and adjustments—will be enough to stop the slide in results.
