Guille Rosas reaches 200 games for Sporting and demands fight

Guille Rosas, captain of Sporting, celebrated in Mareo with the milestone coming just days before he turns 200 games for Sporting de Gijón. As Sport reports, he reaches the figure in the Carlos Tartiere after the derby, a number he says he never imagined “when he arrived at Mareo at just ten years old”.

When asked about how to approach the match against Oviedo, the captain focused on what matters most: “In the end we can win or lose, but… the fight is non-negotiable.” He urged the fans and team to start with intensity and with attention to “the smallest details.” He also believes derby pressure means stats and trends don’t decide it—what counts is competing.

Rosas sees Oviedo as a proactive side, tied to the pressure of having been relegated from LaLiga and now playing with their own fans, plus having reinforced well. Still, he believes Sporting has “its tools,” and expects a game that should be engaging.
