Ibrahima Diaby close to Al-Ahli; Pape Cabral stays at Monaco

Al-Ahli is edging closer to signing Ibrahima Diaby. As L’Équipe reports, the French midfielder —19 years old and PSG youth product— is already in Saudi Arabia to move his career forward after his time at Cercle Bruges.

Medical and contract steps

The newspaper says Diaby is set to undergo his medical this Sunday before putting pen to paper. The fee is estimated at €13.5m including bonuses, with a planned four-year deal and a one-year option.

Al-Ahli also tried Bulatovic

L’Équipe also notes that Al-Ahli made a late push for Andrija Bulatovic (19). Negotiations with RC Lens were described as very advanced, but the deal is not expected to be completed.

With that, Pape Cabral stays put. L’Équipe cites the player’s close circle saying the midfielder will remain at AS Monaco this season, noting that despite the unrest around a potential move in Saudi Arabia and the wider fallout from the sporting director’s departure, Cabral chose not to push for a transfer and is confident about the minutes he will receive.
