Iker Vadillo (Real Zaragoza) and his release clause: up to €30M

Iker Vadillo, the Real Zaragoza academy standout, has a release clause that changes depending on the club’s division. As Sport reports, after being promoted as a first-team player, the attacker signed a contract running until 2030, with a price tag of €10M in Primera RFEF, €20M in Segunda División and €30M if Zaragoza reaches Primera and the clause needs to be applied.

Zaragoza moved quickly to protect the player after his rapid rise from the reserve team to the starting XI. In the last four rounds, Vadillo has been one of the only consistent starters, and the team has collected a full run of wins when he’s in the starting lineup. His role has also evolved: after beginning on the left against Antequera at the Ibercaja Estadio, he has played as a centre-forward in the last three matches, passing the baton to Delgado and Espiau in terms of starting spots.

When announcing the renewal, the club said he earned the trust “with his skill and attitude”. He also scored against Logroñés and, in tougher moments, contributed by forcing the sending off of Mvondo.
