Jan Oblak kicks off Atlético’s international break: Slovenia vs Scotland

Jan Oblak, Atlético de Madrid, is the first Atlético player to take part in the next wave of international matches. This Saturday, the goalkeeper plays for Slovenia in the League of Nations against Scotland, starting from 15:00.

So far, Atlético has 16 internationals on this break: only three have played their first games, and 13 more are still to come, with seven matches scheduled in the next few hours. Morten Hjulmand featured in Denmark’s 3-2 defeat to Norway and played 88 minutes, making 87 passes (including two key ones).

Next up, Spain will play at Wembley with Álex Baena, Grimaldo and Álvaro Pubill in the squad, though their minutes are still to be decided. At the same time, Hancko faces Moldova with Slovakia. Atlético won’t return to Simeone’s group until the week of October 5, ahead of the match versus Alavés.
