Jana Fernández extends her London City deal to 2029

Jana Fernández has renewed her contract with London City Lionesses. As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan defender has signed an extension that keeps her at the English club through the summer of 2029.

The piece notes that Fernández joined England from Barcelona in August 2025 and that, in her first season, she played in every league match for London City in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Speaking to the club’s official media, the defender sounded excited about staying: “I’m absolutely delighted to sign a new contract here at London City… When I arrived in England a year ago, I joined the club with dreams for the future.” She also pointed to “potential, ambition and progress” as the three things she associates with the project and said she feels “at home”.

Long-term commitment

Fernández added that the team, staff and supporters are “building something special together” and that she’s looking forward to “doing her part” over the coming years.

With the renewal now confirmed, London City secures a key piece in defence for the next phase and underlines its long-term plan in the WSL.
