Javier Aguirre starts his Valencia spell: first training and schedule

Javier Aguirre is already taking charge at Valencia: on Thursday he led his first session at the club’s Paterna training ground, just an hour after landing at Manises, as reported by MARCA. The move was immediate, with his staff present at the airport-to-pitch trip, including Pol Llorente and Toni Amor, who had already started work with the squad.

That first day also had Javier Solís and sporting director Braulio Vázquez in attendance as they watched the new era begin. After briefing the team, Aguirre changed the plan: instead of a free weekend, he kept the activity going and scheduled training for Friday and Saturday to make the most of the upcoming competitive break.

The club sits in the lower part of the table after the opening stretch, with 4 points from 7 league matches. Aguirre, 67, signed a one-season deal with a second campaign option, will be officially presented next Monday, and is expected to make his competitive debut against Racing at El Sardinero on October 11.
