Kenan Yildiz sidelined: Juventus to operate, expected out months

Juventus will have to plan without Kenan Yildiz for the next few months. As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the Turkish forward suffered an injury to the left-foot fifth metatarsal and will need surgery, with an expected spell out of action of around three months.

After the Europa League draw, Giorgio Chiellini, Juventus’ director for club affairs, tried to provide reassurance. Speaking to Sky Sport, he said: “He’s had this misfortune in the metatarsal; he’ll have to be operated on and will return in a few months.” He added that the issue is manageable in the long run: “Fortunately it’s an injury that will keep him away from the pitch, but it won’t compromise his career.”

For the side coached by Luciano Spalletti, the timing is particularly tough: the player is not only a key offensive reference, he also operates as the number 10 in the team’s setup.

Who can fill the gap

With Yildiz out, the coach will need alternatives from within the squad. The article points to options such as Kerim Alajbegović and Jérémie Boga.
