Ibrahima Konaté is set to miss France’s upcoming games after injuring his right knee. As L'Équipe reports, the centre-back suffered a ligament sprain in the right knee and will be out for four Nations League matches.
Konaté’s withdrawal
According to L'Équipe, the issue surfaced after a session with Les Bleus, where Konaté picked up the injury on Wednesday. The setback interrupts his adaptation period after a strong start to the season.
Who replaces him
L'Équipe also explains that Konaté will miss the game vs Turkey (this Friday, 20:45 kick-off), plus two fixtures against Belgium (on September 28 and October 5) and the match vs Italy (on October 2).
In his place, France have called up Leny Yoro. The 20-year-old — currently with Manchester United — receives his first call-up to the France senior team, as L'Équipe notes.
