La Liga will be on hold this week as the FIFA international break interrupts the domestic league schedule, giving way to the UEFA commitments of the Spain national team.

As MARCA reports, the timetable for club competition is frozen while the national squads play their scheduled internationals, so fans will have to wait until the second weekend of October to get back to matchday.

The restart begins early

According to the newspaper, action returns on Friday, October 9 at night with the clash between Málaga and Espanyol.

On Saturday, October 10, the slate keeps going with multiple fixtures: Rayo-Athletic, Alavés-Atlético, Barcelona-Getafe, and the standout late game at the Bernabéu, Real Madrid vs Villarreal.

Remaining matches to finish the round

The rest of the matches are played between Sunday and Monday: Elche-Celta, Real Sociedad-Deportivo, Betis-Osasuna and Racing-Valencia on Sunday. The round wraps up on Monday, October 12 at 21:00 with Levante vs Sevilla.

Spain’s Nations League schedule

Meanwhile, MARCA places Spain’s campaign under Luis de la Fuente: the team opens on September 26 away in England at 20:45, then hosts Croatia on September 29 and the Czech Republic on October 3, also at 20:45. The group ends for Spain in November, after the match against the British side on the 15th at home.
