Lille president Olivier Létang boycotts the referees’ body

Lille president Olivier Létang has decided to boycott the referees’ arbitration leadership following another clash with match officials, as L’Équipe reports.

Per the outlet, Létang was hit with a 20,000-euro fine after yet another disagreement involving referees. That outcome has prompted the club chief to step away from any formal contact with the referees’ corporation: he says he will no longer attend any meeting with the arbitration leadership.

The decision raises the stakes around arbitration relations and leaves open how future disagreements between the club and officiating will be handled in Ligue 1.
