Luis García warns: “we can’t be blind” in Segunda

Luis García, coach of RCD Mallorca, addressed the team’s moment this Thursday before the clash with Real Sociedad B, and sent out a clear message: as MARCA reports, “we can’t be blind” about what the squad is showing, because there is still “plenty of room for improvement.”

The Bermellón coach says the goal is to combine performance with results. “We have to improve in our play with the same balance that we achieve results,” he explained. He also stressed that playing well without points “wouldn’t matter,” which is why he’s pushing for more competitiveness right away.

Better away from Son Moix

One issue García wants to fix urgently is the team’s level away from Son Moix. MARCA quotes him saying the squad must “find a better version” on the road, because Mallorca needs to win away from Son Moix to “complete the objective.” At the same time, he believes “there’s no difference” beyond the fact that it is “more difficult,” but insists the team has the resources to fight for wins any given day.

He also reiterated his request that LaLiga Hypermotion should pause during international windows. As he argued, Segunda is “increasingly competitive” and players keep going on international duty. MARCA includes his view that it “should be seriously considered” that the league stops during those breaks, noting that if Martin Valjent is called up to Eslovakia, it’s because he “does things right,” while also saying that if some aren’t available, there are “opportunities for others.”
