Málaga face Córdoba in a closed-door training match

Málaga CF will play a closed-door training match at Nuevo Arcángel this Thursday against Iván Ania’s Córdoba, with no media or fans, according to Sport.

The game is intended to give the squad some minutes ahead of Málaga’s next LaLiga EA Sports match, a week later, versus Espanyol (Friday, 21:00). For Sergio Funes, it’s also a chance to look at Fernando Calero, back at 100% after recovering to face his former team, and Aznou, who could see minutes after returning this Monday from muscle discomfort.

Córdoba currently sit 18th in LaLiga Hypermotion, with two wins (Girona and Albacete) and five losses (Burgos, Granada, Sabadell, Almería and Valladolid). Nelson Monte joined on 1 September on loan from Almería and remains the only player in the squad who has not yet played a match.
