Marc Domènech keeps Andorra calm despite five straight defeats

Andorra is dealing with its first major slump of the season after suffering five consecutive defeats, but the message inside the dressing room is to stay composed and respond rather than spiral. As reported by MARCA, Marc Domènech admits things “aren’t going well”, while stressing that there’s still room to turn it around: “We’re still at the start, the league is very long. Better for this to happen now than on matchday 30.”

Fixes, not panic

For the midfielder, the issue isn’t the team’s identity, but execution. Domènech argues the club needs to correct mistakes and hold on to its playing principles: “We have a very defined style and we trust this idea… I don’t think it’s about changing the game model.” His reading points to a lack of punch in both areas. In his words, Andorra generates chances and controls possession, yet goals don’t arrive often enough, and they also concede “easy” goals in some moments.

New signings need time

He also highlights the start-of-season context: a squad made up of many new arrivals still needs time to fully absorb a clearly defined tactical proposal. Domènech believes the newcomers “have a lot of quality”, but that improvement must come week by week.

Even so, he acknowledges the pressure of the calendar: “The more matches you let pass, the worse.” Personally, after returning to the starting XI and feeling comfortable, he adds: “Now that the team needs it, I hope to contribute as much as possible.” The focus, for now, is clear: start picking up points without abandoning the team’s identity.
