Martial Godo ruled out for several weeks at Strasbourg

Strasbourg’s Ivory Coast winger Martial Godo (23) is set to miss more time: he won’t be back until “several weeks” pass, with the muscle issue still sidelining him, as reported by L'Équipe.

Another setback in pre-season

The problem dates back to a training session before the friendly against Newcastle on 16 August. Since then, his return has been pushed back again, and the club’s message remains unchanged—not before several weeks.

While Godo had a strong 2025-2026 season with 16 goals and 6 assists across all competitions, this campaign’s start has been slowed by the physical knock.

Panichelli facing the long road

L’Équipe also brings news from the same update: coach Hugo Oliveira gave an update on Joaquin Panichelli, who suffered a serious knee injury. The outlet states he won’t play again in 2026, and his return is expected in January 2027.

For now, Strasbourg will have to cope without a key wide attacker, despite Godo having started multiple pre-season friendlies this summer (Blackburn, Brighton, Elversberg and Fribourg).
