Massolin set for a one-year Cagliari loan (buy option)

Yanis Massolin is close to another move in Italy. As L'Équipe reports, the French midfielder, who belongs to Inter, is expected to sign in the coming hours with Cagliari for a one-year loan that includes a buy option.

The deal still needs to be finalized by the clubs, but the direction is already clear: Massolin will return to Serie A after his previous spell away. Per the same source, he joined Inter in January for €4m plus €2m in bonuses, and was then loaned to Modena.

Another Serie A loan

The player is 23 years old, from Moulins, and came through Clermont before reaching Italy. The outlet adds that he resumed training with Inter in early July, where he is contracted until 2030.

L'Équipe also provides context on the market: Nice were interested for a time, particularly if Sofiane Diop were to leave. But Massolin reportedly didn’t have the time to wait and opted for this new path.
