Mbappé misses training with France and is in doubt for Nations League

Kylian Mbappé is still without training with the France national team after joining the squad on Monday at Clairefontaine, as reported by the French Football Federation, via Mundo Deportivo. According to the update, the Real Madrid forward is dealing with “flu-like illness” and is resting in bed, though the federation did not specify how long he is expected to be out.

A new doubt

With this latest development, the “bleu” captain is in doubt for France’s debut in Group A of the Nations League. The opener is scheduled this Friday against Türkiye, in Esmirna.

As Mundo Deportivo notes, Mbappé had already missed a session before the international camp: the report recalls that he also did not train the previous day because of the derby he played against Atlético.

The rest of the squad

Before the open-to-fans session led by Zinedine Zidane, the other members of the squad took part in autograph signings and photos with supporters. Mbappé was not part of that.

After the match versus Türkiye, France play three more Nations League games: away to Belgium in Brussels on September 28, then hosting Italy in Saint-Denis, before finishing the group stage against Belgium on October 2 and 5.
