Mendy left off Real Madrid’s Champions League squad list

Ferland Mendy will not be part of the Champions League 26/27 plans for Real Madrid. Per Fabrizio Romano, the defender has been left out of the UCL squad list for the league phase.

The key point is that, as Romano states, José Mourinho did not select him for the Champions League “league phase”. In other words, the French player is not included in the coach’s immediate competition plans.

What it means for Real Madrid

Since he is not listed, Mendy won’t be eligible to play in that league phase for Real Madrid. The club will therefore need to reshuffle options on that flank and manage rotations accordingly.
