Miguel Román (Celta) out 4-6 weeks with right-knee injury

Celta Vigo has confirmed that Miguel Román will be out for four to six weeks due to an injury in his right knee. The midfielder suffered sharp pain during training on Monday.

Medical tests found a loose body in the joint of his right knee, and the club considers its size to require removal via arthroscopy. The procedure will be carried out in the coming days by the club’s head of medical services, Juan José García Cota. Without complications, the recovery period is estimated to fall within that 4–6 week window.

This season, Román was one of the team’s main starters: he played all eight official matches, started seven, and logged 669 minutes, scoring once and providing two assists. Last term he missed the end of the season after a three-month spell sidelined by a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his left foot.
