Montpellier hold firm on Yanis Issoufou as clubs circle

The transfer market is heating up around Yanis Issoufou, a 19-year-old winger at Montpellier, with a clear message for now: the club has turned down offers to sell him.

Rejected so far

As reported by L’Équipe, Issoufou is being targeted by Millwall (Championship) and Schalke 04 (Bundesliga). Both clubs would have already sent proposals worth over €2 million, aimed at buying the final two years of his deal.

Multiple clubs involved

The French outlet also adds that it’s not just these two teams. Up to five clubs may have made offers to Montpellier for the youngster, who is a French U19 international and was developed at La Paillade.

On the pitch, he hasn’t been a regular starter since the arrival of Nordan Mukiele, which has limited him largely to substitute minutes. Even so, the interest from abroad remains strong.

Per L’Équipe, the paths with Millwall and Schalke were still open with a little over 24 hours left in the window when the piece was published. That means any late move could still force Montpellier to revisit their stance.
