Mudryk injures ankle and is set to miss games after the break

Mykhailo Mudryk (25) hasn’t been able to settle in at Tottenham for long. As Mundo Deportivo reports, the winger—who has joined on loan from Chelsea with an option to buy at the end of the season—picked up an ankle injury during a training session and is expected to be out until after the next international break.

Short comeback, fresh setback

The timing is especially tough. Mudryk had only just returned properly: last Saturday, against Nottingham Forest, he came on in the second half and played his first official minutes in 646 days. His comeback followed a long spell away from football due to a doping ban, which kept him out from November 2024.

De Zerbi’s patience cut short

The Tottenham move was meant to give him a chance to reset and work again with Roberto De Zerbi, whom he previously knew from Shakhtar Donetsk. The Italian coach had asked for patience, warning that Mudryk still needed time to regain his best physical condition. But, as Mundo Deportivo notes, the new step forward has been interrupted almost immediately.

The paper says Mudryk will have to stop again and should miss several Tottenham matches. The only silver lining is the upcoming longer pause in the calendar, so he won’t be absent for club games straight through—but he will still be affected regarding the national team he was aiming to return to, according to the same report.
