N’Guessan misses Lens clash due to injury

Ange N’Guessan, the Slavia Prague defender, was set to renew his link with the RC Lens in the UEFA Champions League, but a right-calf injury will keep him out. According to L’Équipe, he will not be available for Thursday’s match at 21:00.

Injury rules out the reunion

The 23-year-old looked eager to face the club he wanted to play against, yet the setback means the reencounter won’t happen. “Je suis très déçu parce que c'est le club que je voulais absolument affronter”, he said, as reported by L’Équipe.

From Lens academy to Slavia

N’Guessan trained at Lens from 2016 to 2021 and even shared dressing-room time with today’s Lens defenders Ismaëlo Ganiou and Souleymane Sagnan. After his academy years, he chose a different path by moving abroad: he joined Torino in January 2022.

L’Équipe also traces his rise in Eastern Europe through NK Bravo (2024-2025, Slovenia) and Slovan Liberec (Czech Republic). This summer, Slavia signed him for €6m from Liberec—an investment that will now have to wait a little longer because the Champions League reunion with Lens won’t take place.
