Nantes check Gaëtan Poussin, but the plan is unlikely

Nantes are expected to shop for a goalkeeper after Alexis Mirbach suffered a knee injury. In the meantime, coach Grégory Poirier has reportedly looked at adding a short-term option in goal, with Gaëtan Poussin at Red Star mentioned as a possible target.

Poussin option not moving

As L'Équipe explains, Poirier would have sounded out Poussin, 27 years old, who is tied to a deal running until 2027. But the outlet adds that this route is not considered workable at Nantes. It also notes the approach may have annoyed the Paris club.

With Maxime Dupé starting as first-choice, Nantes play Nancy on Monday night (5th matchday, kick-off 20:45). The club also has Yanel Zézé, 18, who signed his first professional contract in June and is listed as the backup option.
