Pablo Durán fires for Celta and is their top scorer so far

Celta have made an impressive start: they have netted eight goals in their first eight official matches, across LaLiga and the Europa League, with five of those coming in Saturday’s game against Racing de Santander, as reported by MARCA.

Among all their scorers, one name stands out: Pablo Durán. He’s the only player to score more than once so far, and his two goals make him Celta’s top scorer at this stage of the season. He has done it in 318 minutes across six matches.

Besides Durán, six other players have found the net in this early period: Iago Aspas, Starfelt, Jutglà, Hugo González, Moriba and Miguel Román. In other words, Celta spread the scoring load—while Durán provides the extra punch.

After his two-goal performance vs Racing de Santander, Durán said he needed to “be much more aggressive and go looking for the goal,” trusting his shot. As MARCA quotes him, it’s what he tried: “I tested it… and I was lucky.”

What he values most is the points. “We’re really happy with the win,” he said, adding that the team felt they deserved it and that it was “a matter of time” before it arrived. With that momentum and the attacking numbers on the board, Celta’s start looks solid—at least for now, and as MARCA underlines.
