Pablo Hernández celebrates Castellón’s 19th point after Leganés win

Pablo Hernández, Castellón head coach, celebrated a Butarque win that keeps the side at the summit with 19 points from 21 possible. Speaking moments after the game, he said he was “happy for the three points and for the match”, adding that even though Leganés started sharper, his team eventually “took control of the ball” and managed the way the game was played.

Hernández highlighted the team’s efficiency: they scored by taking advantage of a mistake from the hosts and, despite Leganés earning a penalty, Matthys made the save to keep a clean sheet. On that incident, the coach argued that it should have been “a penalty and a yellow card”, even if the referee decided it was a red.

He also addressed Matthys’s condition at half-time, saying he was carrying discomfort and that the substitution was planned, with hopes he can be available next week.
