Pedro Villar faces several weeks out with hamstring injury

Pedro Villar, the 18-year-old midfielder for Barça Atlètic, is set to miss several weeks due to a hamstring injury. He felt the problem during the match against Peña Sport (4-0) and asked to be substituted in the first half; medical tests carried out this Monday confirmed the issue.

It’s Villar’s first season with a Barça Atlètic contract and he’s quickly become a key piece under Juliano Belletti: he started all four league games and completed two of them, vs Náxara and Barbastro. Against Peña Sport he was replaced in the 39th minute and has worked both as a pivot and as an interior player.

Villar extended his deal in August: he was previously due to expire in 2027, but it was extended to 2030, with an option to add one more year. After the victory that left the side top of its group, the next fixtures include a trip to Tudelano and two consecutive matches at the Johan, vs SD Logroñés and Utebo.
