Pol Fortuny misses the penalty moment as Real Madrid Castilla lose 1-2 to Alcorcón

Real Madrid Castilla were beaten 1-2 by Alcorcón at Di Stéfano, putting alarm bells ringing in the white reserve team. They now have only five points from 15 and have won just once in the league, leaving them 14th.

Castilla began well: in the 12th minute Pol Fortuny scored from a penalty after Bañuz fouled Yáñez. Alcorcón asked for a VAR review, but the referee upheld the decision. Just before half-time, Alcorcón completed the turnaround: Mayorga equalised in the 39th minute, and Esteban Aparicio made it 1-2 in the 45+1.

In the second half, Castilla had more of the ball but couldn’t find a way through. Leiva scored in the 60th minute, yet the goal was ruled out for offside, and the hosts failed to salvage a draw. Yellow cards went to Fran Justo (45+3’), Thiago (51’), Omar (66’) and Nicola (84’), with F. Javier Saiz Villares as referee.
