PSG beat OM in the Clásico (2-1) and sink Marseille

PSG took the Clásico at the Vélodrome, beating Marseille 2-1 and pushing the hosts deeper into the Ligue 1 relegation fight. The match began with difficulty for the visitors, but Luis Enrique’s side grew into the game and found a stronger rhythm after the interval.

Torres flips it

The turning point came with Ferran Torres. As reported by RMC Sport, once Torres entered with momentum, the game shifted and PSG began to generate the momentum they were missing in the first period. Marseille did respond, but the OM couldn’t steady the match as PSG regained control and kept probing.

Marquinhos finishes

When it mattered, Marquinhos delivered the decisive moment to make it 2-1, sending Marseille away with a bitter result. The loss extends the downward spiral: Marseille have now suffered a fifth straight defeat across all competitions. Opta also noted that Marseille are in this “relegation zone” position at this stage of the season for the first time since 2011-2012.

Luis Enrique spoke on Ligue 1+ about how planned but tough the game was: “Cela a été le match que nous avions planifié, avec beaucoup de difficulté.” He added that everything changed after the break: “La deuxième période, tout a changé, on a fait une très belle deuxième mi-temps.”

Jeffrey De Lange, in the same channel, accepted the setback while pointing to positives: “Ce n'est pas assez parce qu'on a perdu mais on a montré de bonnes choses.” Ferran Torres also dedicated the win: “On dédie cette victoire aux supporters qui n'étaient pas là.”
