Raphinha returns to Barcelona: thigh edema rules him out vs India

Raphinha, of FC Barcelona, is back in Barcelona with muscle edema in his right thigh and won’t make Brazil’s friendly against India on Saturday, October 3, Mundo Deportivo reports.

The Brazilian federation (CBF) said precaution is key after medical tests carried out on the forward following the friendly vs Australia, a 2-4 win for Brazil. The statement points to “a small muscular edema in the back of his right thigh”.

The idea now is for the forward to be assessed by Barça’s medical staff as soon as possible: he is expected to undergo exams, have his status evaluated, and return to availability for Hansi Flick once the international window resumes.
