Rayo Vallecano’s appeal fails, keeping €15,000 fine

The Tribunal Administrativo del Deporte (TAD) has rejected Rayo Vallecano’s appeal against a €15,000 fine imposed by the RFEF. The reason, according to the ruling, was a chant heard in the stadium that encouraged violence and was not stopped from being repeated.

LaLiga brought the complaint after it was reported during the Feb. 28 match against Athletic Club. The TAD also points out that the club had sent messages to prevent the chant from happening again following a previous €9,000 penalty for the same chant in February 2025 against Villarreal, but did not do so at the Athletic game this year.

The decision says the earlier ruling can’t be treated as “res judicata” or binding case law, because it involves different seasons and disciplinary proceedings. It adds that the chant does not need to name a victim or require an actual violent outcome to be considered violence-inciting.
